Swamp Outlaw Lifts

1980-86 Honda ATC 185/200 Chain Drive 

Thank you for using Swamp Outlaw to lift your Honda ATC! Please read through this before ordering as there are several options and parts required to complete your build. For more information on lift kits make sure to follow the Swamp Outlaw Facebook page.

Rear Lift: This rear lift kit is completely bolt in and includes all required hardware. We offer this lift kit in both 4” and 6” lifts. Please make sure you have selected the correct listing. This kit does require 2 front mount holes to be drilled out to a larger size. You will also need to remove 2 small tabs from the rear of the frame to complete install. We include detailed installation instructions with every part!

Front Lift: There are 2 available bolt-in front lift kits from Swamp Outlaw. We offer kits for the solid front forks as well as the suspended models on the 200S and some 185S although in many cases these have been swapped around over the years. Pictures are the best reference when selecting the correct front lift. 

  • Longer brake cables are required for suspended model lifts.

  • Solid fork lifts are not compatible with factory front drum brakes.

Sprockets: We offer 3 different sizes of sprockets 65T 80T and 90T. These bolt up in place of the factory sprockets with the exception of the earlier model 81 and 82 where our adapter is required to install. Swamp Outlaw Part# SO-8082-100. Make sure to keep in mind ground clearance when selecting sprockets. 

Here are my recommendations for sprocket selection 

  • 26”-28” Tire 65 Tooth 

  • 29”-32” Tire 80 Tooth 

  • 33”-35” Tire 90 Tooth

Wheels and Tires: Wheels and tires are typically the most expensive part of any lifted build. We suggest using a 5+2 offset rim which is most common for aftermarket wheels. This offset will correctly center in the front using our wheel adapters to go from the 4x150 pattern to either 4x110 (Honda) 4x137 (Can-Am) 4x156 (Polaris). See our other listings to order a front adapter. For the rear wheels simply order rear hubs for a 400EX ATV and they will directly replace the hubs on the ATC. Honda Part # 42410-HCO-0000

Chain: Our sprockets are cut to use factory size 520 Chain. 4” Lift with 65T Sprocket uses about 120 links and 6” Lift with 80T Sprocket uses 140 links. This should give you a good reference for how much you need when ordering a chain.
